Anaconda Class 5 – Winter 2016

In this session Students will get their hosted sites up and running, moving content from phylliserck.net to their own domains.  They will learn how to install plugins and themes on their own hosted wordpress sites.

Install Plugin

1. Go to your hosted wordpress site
2. Logon to the dashboard
3. Click -> Plugins -> Add New
4. For plugins in the WordPress.org library
   1. type the plugin name in Search
   2. click Search
   3. click Install Now
   4. Click OK on the “Are you sure you want to Install” prompt
5. For plugins obtained from a plugin developer
   1. click Upload
   2. Browse to the .zip file on your computer
   3. Click “Install Now” button

Install Theme

1. Go to your hosted wordpress site
2. Logon to the the dashboard
3. Click -> Appearance -> Themes
4. Click the “Install Themes” tab
5. For themes in the WordPress.org library
   1. type the theme name in Search
   2. click Search
   3. click Install under the theme name
   4. click the blue “Install Now” button
6. For themes obtained from a theme developer
   1. click Upload
   2. Browse to the .zip file on your computer
   3. Click “Install Now” button
